You play as Adol once again in an epic quest to “Selceta.” This is the continuation of Y’s 3. You must get to Selceta before the troops of 3 mages reaches Selceta. The 3 mages have awesome powers and they are using monsters to weaken other cities to get to Selceta. The troops in the city you start in are very twitchy and get mad at anything. Adol has a doctor friend named Flair who travels with him to find the Selceta Flower. You end up being locked up in a jail cell. You find out that the wall moves and you push it out of the way. When the guards see you outside, they say that they are going to throw you in again. Then the commander tells them to stop throwing travelers into jail. The soldiers apologize and then you go to Flair. He tells you that you need sleep. Once Adol wakes up he heads toward the outside world.
Graphics [4/10]:
If you like tiny boring looking sprites, this is the game for you. The graphics are not very good at all. They look almost as bad as the previous Y’s game. The monsters don’t look scary and the letters are hard to read sometimes in the text. The one cool thing I found out about it was that it has a screensaver. The backgrounds are dull and repetitive. They are pretty bad.
Music and Sound [6/10]:
The music isn’t that bad at all but it is a little squeaky sounding. The title screen music is cool but the town music is annoying. The music is usually ok and you may want to listen to it. The sounds are very bad. When you get hit it is a little bump noise. When you attack the enemy with a sword it makes a bump noise not a sword noise.
Game Play [1/10]:
The game play is horrendous. I still can’t figure out which button is attack because he hits the enemy but his body always stays exactly the same way as it is when he is standing. You have to keep the amount of gold you have in your head because nowhere in the game does it tell how much gold Adol is carrying! All you do in this game is walk around and hit enemies using your “imagination.” 10 minutes of this game would make you mad that you ever bought it.
Challenge/Replay [1/10]:
This game is way too hard. At the beginning when I was attacking the enemies, I got killed in seconds because I couldn’t use my sword. It was equipped and he was holding it. I think the way to kill the enemy is to sneak up behind it and run into it. You just find yourself running by enemies and then going to another town. You wouldn’t want to replay this game because it is very frustrating.
Conclusion/Overall [3/10]:
This game is terrible. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. I don’t believe there are any Game Genie codes for this game. This game you will never beat. If you can find this game for 1 cent it isn’t a fair price. It is just as bad as Y’s 3.
